We use only ingredients you would find in your pantry. Each variety contains no more than 10 ingredients. Pure, simple, authentic.
Actually, they are all the same weight. Because we hand wrap them in a traditional corn husk, each and every Chaparro’s Tamale is unique in shape. Sure, it would be cheaper to machine-wrap them in a synthetic wrapper, but that’s not something we would feed our families and don’t think you would want to either.
Over half the weight of every tamale is meat.
We subject every supplier to an extensive quality evaluation and constantly inspect every batch of ingredients before they go into production.

Our preferred cooking method is steaming (over a few inches of boiling water), but they taste great out of the microwave for quicker preparation. One guy we know swears by cooking them on the edge of a grill while he’s cooking steaks to serve as a side dish.
Actually, no. Many other commercial brands wrap their tamales in a plastic sheath because it’s less expensive and mechanized.
